Wedding Officiant
Maine, New England and Destination Weddings
Hello, and welcome!
I am a Cantor with extensive experience officiating Jewish and Interfaith wedding ceremonies. My goal when helping couples is to create a memory-making experience for them and their extended families. Each couple is unique. I love to learn about who they are so that I am able to bring value and meaning to their special wedding day. Whether this is a Jewish or interfaith ceremony, my job is to infuse knowledge throughout their exploration of some of the most symbolic Jewish wedding rituals! I am committed to working with all couples, regardless of race and sexual orientation.
My Philosophy
I know wedding celebrations are equal parts happiness and excitement, chaos and worry! My job is to create a stress-free space for the couple, a time out of time to be fully present, to be guided and embraced in loving words, in the presence of family and friends.
I take pride in crafting thoughtful ceremonies that have genuine meaning, without losing the sense of humor and happiness of each couple's special day. For me, preparation towards the ceremony is as important as the ceremony itself. I take time to get to know the couple, listen intently, make recommendations and take all their input and creativity in order to transform the wedding ceremony into their wedding ceremony. Additionally, I’m fluent in Spanish and can officiate a bilingual ceremony!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have experience working with interfaith couples?
I have vast experience working with couples that come to their union from different religious backgrounds. I pride myself in being a good listener and getting to know the wedding couple in order to understand where and how to incorporate some of the Jewish elements that are meaningful to them into their ceremony. Many of the rituals and elements in a Jewish wedding symbolize universal values of love, friendship and loyalty that we can all relate to!
How is working with a Cantor different from working with a Rabbi?
While Rabbis and Cantors have different areas of experience, we are both considered fully vested clergy in progressive Judaism, and have the same status when it comes to officiating life cycle events (Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, wedding ceremonies, funerals, etc.) More specifically, because Cantors are trained singers and well versed in all musical aspects of the prayers and blessings, lovely music and vocals will be included as part of your ceremony!
What is a Ketubah, and how do I obtain one?
The ketubah is the marriage contract that Judaism requires the wedding couple to sign on their wedding day. Historically, it was intended to protect the woman, primarily by establishing the man's financial obligations to her in case of divorce or widowhood. In modern days, couples may have a variety of reasons why they would like to sign a ketubah. From traditional texts to modern and creative ketubot, there are many options when it comes to creating the ketubah that best represents your marriage. Check out some templates here, and also explore sites like Etsy and others to find highly talented ketubah artists!
Can I have a Ketubah even if this is an Interfaith ceremony?
The short answer is, yes! There is a lot of room for customization in the resources that I shared immediately above. Be mindful of the reason why you want a ketubah, and its potential reach. An interfaith ketubah will not be recognized as a wedding document in Israel or various conservative and orthodox settings.
